Conversion Meter Set Process
Many of you have requested that we simplify our meter set process for customers that are converting their homes to Natural Gas. We are certain that this expedited meter set process will enhance the service that both you and Washington Gas will provide our valuable customers.
This is how the new process will work:
- WG Underground Contractor installs the service line to the house, sets the new meter and turns the gas on up to the gas outlet valve. The valve will be off and plugged.
- An information tag is placed on just below the gas outlet valve that advises the customer to contact a licensed professional to introduce gas to the house piping.
- For the licensed professional, the tag specifies the gas pressure that is being used and their responsibility to perform a pressure test.
